The part of the wiper requiring the most attention is the wiper refill, or rubber strip that actually wipes the windshield. Car washes, constant back-and-forth motion, windshield solvents, cold weather and the drying effects of the sun all take their toll on wiper elements. Any of the following conditions will result in poor wiper performance and are cause to replace the element.
