How do I figure out what my car needs?
We’ll tell you! If you’re having a specific problem, we have an interactive troubleshooting system called Trustworthy Advice that can help identify the cause and likely cost of repair. If you can’t find an answer to your problem or question there, you can talk one-on-one to our staff car repair experts using the Trustworthy Advice Chat feature, or even by calling our toll-free 1-800-859-3282 help line. We also give you a link to determine all services the manufacturer recommends for your car, plus links to see recall notices or Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) about possible problems identified with your make and model of car. We also provide general car care and repair reference articles. In the ProCarCare Reference Library we have a complete car care encyclopedia to provide detailed information for maintenance and research, an automotive terms glossary, news, advice, features and more.
What if I don’t even know what services my car should have?
We’ll keep track for you. Once you sign in to ProCarCare with a Login Name and Password, we create a personal ProCarCare page for you. On the ProCarCare page you will type in basic information about your car, such as the make, model, year and mileage. We permanently save this information on your ProCarCare page for you, plus provide links to information about the services the manufacturer recommends for your car to keep it in good running condition. You can access your ProCarCare page at any time to see what recommended maintenance services are coming up, whether any recall notices or Technical Service Bulletins have been issued by the manufacturer for your vehicle, and more. In addition, we will e-mail you notices when it is time for regularly scheduled services such as oil and filter changes or tune-ups.
How do I find places to get my car serviced or repaired?
Thousands of Shops around the country are affiliated with ProCarCare. Each of these member shops have their own Web pages on ProCarCare where you can see their services, pricing, hours and special deals. Additionally, we provide satisfaction ratings where you can see how other ProCarCare car owners have rated their experiences with these shops. You can locate repair shops near you and make an appointment online by simply clicking the link that says Find a Shop. Our database also includes thousands of non-member shops, so even if there’s no ProCarCare member shop nearby you can use ProCarCare to locate a shop near you.
How do I find bargains or special deals?
We have a whole section for bargain hunters on our Great Deals and Custom Services page. It shows discounted prices or special deals currently being offered by your nearby ProCarCare member shops. What if you want a special deal not on the Great Deals page, or a service not normally offered that you’re willing to pay extra for, like a car pick-up or drop-off? Then go to the to the Discount Service Request or Premium Service Request sections, where you may post a Service Request that we send out to Shops near you. They’ll then send in bids for the work you want performed. If you’ve ever had to make a dozen phone calls to find an unusual service or to check prices, you’ll appreciate these tools for finding custom services.
How do I find information about car maintenance or repair?
ProCarCare provides extensive information about general car maintenance and repair, plus advice, news and features in the Reference Library. Simply click on Reference Library button in the left-hand navigation bar on every page. You may also find vehicle-specific maintenance schedules, recall notices and Technical Service Bulletins for your car by clicking on the Vehicle Vitals button from your ProCarCare page.
