Using the Vehicle Vitals section

What is Vehicle Vitals?
The Vehicle Vitals section contains important safety, maintenance and repair information about your vehicle. Here you can read any Recall Notices from the manufacturer about mechanical problems that may pose a safety hazard, view Technical Service Bulletins that list mechanical problems and repair procedures for your vehicle, check repair costs with the Service Price Estimator and keep tabs on the manufacturer’s Recommended Services for your vehicle. Please note that you must have signed up and created a ProCarCare page in order to reach the Vehicle Vitals section.

Viewing Recall Notices for your vehicle
Whenever a defect or malfunction is discovered that impairs vehicle safety, the automakers will issue a recall notice. Owners should monitor recall notices in order to keep their vehicles in safe working condition. To view recall notices for your vehicle, click on the Vehicle Vitals link at the left of your screen, and then click on Recall Notices. Any recall notices affecting your vehicle will be displayed. If you want to check for recalls on a different vehicle, you can do so by accessing the Click Here link located just below the listed vehicle. Then click on the vehicle you want to check and click the Next button, or go down to the bottom of the page and click on the appropriate link to add a new vehicle to your profile.

Viewing Technical Service Bulletins for your vehicle
Technical Service Bulletins – called TSBs within the trade -- are issued by vehicle manufacturers to help mechanics diagnose and repair problems reported by car owners. It's not unusual for a car to have numerous TSBs, as manufacturers issue more than 6,000 each year. Full TSBs include detailed service procedures. The TSBs listed on ProCarCare are only the titles and brief description of these bulletins, but this information will help your mechanic identify and head off possible problems with your car. To view TSBs for your vehicle, click on Vehicle Vitals button in the navigation bar at the left, and then click on Technical Service Bulletins. A list of TSBs for your currently selected vehicle will be displayed. To view TSBs for other vehicles, click the link to change vehicles, located just below your currently selected vehicle.

Using the Service Price Estimator
ProCarCare allows you to check the standard price range for common types of services. To use this feature, click the Vehicle Vitals link in the navigation bar at the left, select Service Price Estimator, then select the service you want to price check. Service costs listed in the Service Price Estimator are based on the industry standard for labor and materials for these common jobs. Be aware, however, that parts and labor costs may vary in different areas of the country; this estimator is intended as a general guide only.
