Are you having a car problem you need help with? ProCarCare offers expert advice in a number of ways. By clicking on the Get Expert Advice link you’ll be able to access the following tools or resources to help you figure out what is wrong with your car:
- Trustworthy Advice, our interactive troubleshooting system, is a smart-question system to help you identify what is causing problems.
- The ProCarCare Message Boards is an extensive bulletin board section where you can post questions or problems you’re having for other car owners to respond.
- You can also look up car care and repair questions in the ProCarCare Reference Library, which contains a glossary, encyclopedia of car maintenance information, feature articles and more.
What is Trustworthy Advice?
Specifically, this is our interactive smart-question system to help you identify what is causing problems with your car. You describe the symptoms of the problem you’re experiencing by proceeding through a series of questions, and Trustworthy Advice will determine the possible causes plus provide a cost range for the recommended repair. Think of it as your “car doctor.”
How do you use Trustworthy Advice?
To start, click the link to Get Expert Advice. This link is on every page. In the screens that follow you will be asked questions about your car and the problem you’re encountering. Choose the answers that most closely describe the problem. At the end of the process Trustworthy Advice will provide an analysis of the likely causes of the problem, a suggested repair and industry-standard cost. After you’ve identified the problem, if you choose you’ll be able to find a Shop that performs the kind of repair called for and schedule an appointment.
Do I have to sign up and create a ProCarCare page to use Trustworthy Advice?
No, you can use the Trustworthy Advice troubleshooting system without signing up. But at the end of the troubleshooting process, you’ll need to sign up if you want to proceed to find a shop and make an appointment for repair work. This is necessary so the shop can communicate with you. After you sign up for a ProCarCare page you’ll be able to access many resources that are not available when you’re just a visitor. So we recommend signing up and creating a ProCarCare page first.
What are the ProCarCare Message Boards?
The message boards are a series of interactive bulletin boards where you can post comments or questions about your car, and other car owners may post replies or suggestions. They provide a great way to network with other car owners.
What if I can’t find a message board for my make and model?
There are message boards for 25 different makes of cars, from BMWs through Volvos. If your particular make of car does not have its own forum, select from one of the three general forums for “Other Domestic,” “Other European” or “Other Asian” makes. Additionally, you can request us to create a new message board for your car by clicking on the “Nominate a New Message Board” link. We’ll create new message boards when we receive sufficient demand for them.
