How much does it cost to use ProCarCare?
Nothing. Everything you do on ProCarCare is free.
If I schedule an appointment using ProCarCare, am I obligated to pay the Shop any money?
No. Just as when you use your phone to call in an appointment, until you take your car in to the Shop and confirm the work you want in person, you don’t create a contract with the Shop. ProCarCare takes no part in the transaction between you and the Shop. Our role is to provide a convenient way for you to learn more about car services you need, locate good shops nearby, find good deals and make appointments at any time of night or day.
What if I can’t find my local Shop in the ProCarCare listings?
The ProCarCare listing of Shops includes all the Shops we’ve compiled from common sources like the yellow pages. If you have a local Shop that is not included in our listings, we’d be happy to contact them to see if they would like to be an ProCarCare affiliate. To nominate a Shop, click on the Nominate link under Non-Member Shops at the top left of the find Shops: Search Results page. Then, fill in the form to the best of your ability and click on the Nominate button at the bottom of the page.
Why can I find a listing for local service, but can’t make an appointment or see other details?
If you see your local Shop listed but there are no additional details, it means that your Shop is not an ProCarCare affiliate. If you click on the Nominate link under Non-Member Shops and provide the information requested, we’ll contact the Shop and let them know they have a customer who would like to be able to make appointments through ProCarCare.
How do I cancel an appointment?
If it turns out you won’t be able to make it to an appointment you have scheduled with ProCarCare, go to your ProCarCare page and click My Scheduled Appointments. Then click on Review Current Appointments to see your scheduled service appointments. If you want to see the details of the scheduled service or cancel the appointment, click on the highlighted ATN number at the left of the chart. This will take you to the Review/Cancel Selected Appointment page. Here you can view all the details of your scheduled service. To cancel your appointment, click on the Cancel Appointment button at the bottom of the page. To view the Shop’s profile, click on the highlighted name of the Shop. on the pull-down menu under “My appointments.” Select “Cancel my appointment” to review your appointment and send a cancellation notice.
I used Find a Shop and found one I want to schedule an appointment with. How come there’s no link or button to make the appointment?
If you can’t see the Make an Appointment link on your Shop’s page, that means you have failed to Select Common Services. To make an appointment you must select a service first. Do this by clicking the Select Common Services link at the top left corner of your screen.
What are Recalls and TSBs?
Car manufacturers issue safety recall notices to inform owners of defects or malfunctions that relate to vehicle safety. You should monitor recalls in order to keep your vehicle in safe working condition. Recall work will often be performed by car dealers for free. Technical Service Bulletins (or “TSBs,” as they are called by mechanics and people in the industry) are issued by manufacturers to help mechanics diagnose and repair problems reported by car owners. It’s not unusual for a car to have multiple TSBs, as manufacturers issue more than 6,000 each year. Full TSBs include detailed service procedures. The ProCarCare TSBs show only the titles and descriptions of these bulletins, but this information is valuable to communicate with your shop in order to identify and head off possible problems with your car.
